Samsung White 3.6 Cu Ft DOE Front Load Washer & 7.3 Cu. Ft. ELECTRIC Dryer Laundry Set with Pedestals WF361BVBEWR_DV361EWBEWR_WE357A0W
I own the exact same set. You must understand, that a front load washer will NOT work like a top loader. Yes, it is harder to wash a comforter, but that does not mean it cannot be done. Please, do your homework before you buy ANY front loader. The end game here is size. a full size comforter will fit (will be hard but possible). You want to make sure the size of your washer will fit the largest item you would ever want to wash. In this case, a 3.6 cu ft washer is a tad small. Go for 4.0 cu ft or larger, you will thank me later. Now, about the wash time. Because you no longer have an agitator (which can ruin your clothes), the tumble action of the washer is what cleans your clothes. Just like a traditional machine, setting the machine to the correct cycle will help. Now, when you load the clothes, it will spin. Yes, it has to, to determine load size. once it stops spinning, it fills with water. A big load like a comforter will automatically set the machine to wash for two hours. Yes, I know. big loads need more time to get clean. Trust me, it works. Granted, that is not a lot of water. It is not supposed to! You purchased a machine rated for low water use. what is is doing is getting the clothes soaked. the HE detergent is not designed to cause a lot of suds. if it did, it would clog up the machine. HE detergent is low sudsing, as the tumble action of the clothes in the water will actually clean the clothes. Regular soap will cushion the clothes instead of penetrating the clothes. using too much fabric softner will also make the clothes water proof, preventing a good cleaning ( i found this out on the internet, look it up). I own this set, bought it new three years ago, no problems. Yes you can get more water in the machine...Heard of Youtube? Enough said. BTW, the other reviews complain about the water not being hot enough. True, that can happen depending on where your machine is located. But (and there is always a but)...ALL machines are like this!!!! This is my second HE machine (the first is a top load HE machine, and I went through similar problems).. Unless you specifically buy a machine with a built in heater, even standard machines will cool down the water temp, pending on the type of load you are washing. For everyone whining about clothes not coming out white and bright? I found the simple solution...BLEACH. Really???? If you are doing laundry and using bleach and your whites are not coming clean, you got bigger problems than a bad front loader. Seriously. The machine will not dump the bleach into the first wash cycle. It has two. the first takes the detergent, it drains, spins then fills up with water and bleach solution, washes, then spins for the final rinse cycle. I have found the quick wash cycle of 25 mins does just a good of a job as the longer cycle. Now the heavy duty cycle will put more water into the machine, and for good reason. That is the cycle you SHOULD be using for sheets, linens, rugs, etc, the heavier stuff. Make sense? If the water level truly bothers you (it did for me when I first bought it)..then take my advice and do not buy this machine. It is designed to be low water use, which make your water bill lower and electric use lower. Isn't that what we all want?? I don't know what most of the people who complain about mold smell are talking about. As I said, I owned both the front load and top load HE machines, and both have their advantages. a front loader will mold, as water, soap, etc will splash on the glass door and the rubber booting around the door. Top load machines don't have that problem due to gravity pushing down on the water into the tub. When you are done with laundry, wipe off the interior and exterior glass door and rubber bellows with a clean towel or rag. If you pay attention and make sure you are only using HE detergent, and wiping up spills here and there, I cannot see how you would have a problem. Now, those of you who live in northern climates (I am in florida) and your set is in a basement, yes you may run into mild issues due to the dampness of most unfinished basements. But simple maintenance will prevent this..i have this machine, and never had any problems with the washer or dryer. Speaking of the dryer..I have owned several high end dryers from maytag and Kenmore with the auto dry feature. Now all dryers will ball clothes, sheets, etc..fact of life, get over it. when you mix one type of laundry (sheets) with clothes, the sheets will win out and fold your clothes into them. don't use the auto cycle. use the standard timed cycle with higher heat, everything will dry. I did that for my oversized comnforter in my Samsung dryer, and I got it to dry in about an hour or so. My family has owned a traditional machine for YEARS and NEVER had problems with mold and smell. Cause we always left the top open. This is common sense stuff people!!! Make sure you level the machine and the steps if you get them, as vibration is a fact of life for the machine, but if they are level, not a problem. Mine has the anti vibration feature so I don't have off level issues that often. Point is, do your homework before you try to buy. Like I said, make sure the model you buy will be able to handle what you are trying to wash. The cheapest price is not always the best deal, so keep that in mind. - Customer Reviews
